EFN CONFERENCE 2021   
Wednesday 17 & Thursday 18 November
at the Hungarian Heritage House, Budapest

VENUE:  Our generous host and the venue for the conference was the Hungarian Heritage House , Corvin tér 8, Budapest 1011

THE PROGRAMME:  The conference began with coffee and registration at 12.00 midday on Wednesday 17 November – then sessions from 14.00.  In the evening we visited one of Hungary’s famous Dance Houses.  On Thursday 18 the sessions began from 9.15am and the formal conference closed at 15.30 – and then with time to meet and talk and with special Hungarian folk showcase gigs in the evening.

SPEAKERS and SESSIONS:  included Raisa Siivola & Maria Silvennoinen (from Jazz Finland) on Green Nordic Touring and Promotion; Tom Besford (from English Folk Expo) on Reaching Audiences both In-Person and Online; András Lelkes (of Hangveto, Hungary) on A Bridge For Balkan Music; Miklos Both (Hungary) on Folk Music Education for Future Generations;  and more;  plus DISCUSSION sessions on subjects chosen by members including The Future Work of EFN and Folk Music and Commercialisation and more;  plus the EGM for Elections to the Board.

 

Yes - it was EFN'S first in-person conference since 2019.  Everyone was so incredibly welcome to meet in person again at EFN’s 2nd pan-European conference.
